Okay, I'll be the naive one and ask - why does he hold the candle under the bottle when he pours it? Is it to warm it up?

x Laura: that scene shows you how much tha way of drinking wine in italy changed...it was considered normal to "warm" the neck of the bottle...now no1 would thintk about it...but would use the candle just to control that no "bootom deposit" goes into the glass...
Btw...dunno if you got wot they say in italian...the aristocratic guy is celebrating how wonderful is that Frecobaldi from 1911 that he thinks he's tasting but then the waiter(who's very famous actor) notices that he took the wrong bottle...a "Social Winery" bottle from 1968(basically as bad as a tetrapack wine)... the scene is very funny cos of the different regional accents that they speak
